- No session limits for TimelyCare in spring 2026! Students in the United States can access TimelyCare directly, without a referral from CAPS. TimelyCare is an extension of CAPS, and a free teletherapy service that provides remote counseling from mental health providers licensed throughout the country. TimelyCare also gives Brown students unlimited access to a library of wellness videos. TimelyCare can be accessed from any location in the United States.
- Students who would like to initiate mental health treatment for the spring 2026 semester should schedule a 30-minute treatment planning appointment starting the week of 1/19/26. Please call CAPS (401-863-3476) or walk in to the Health & Wellness Building at 450 Brook Street to schedule.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers a range of mental health treatment and prevention services for Brown students in an inclusive, compassionate, affirming and socially just environment.
CAPS provides brief and intermittent individual psychological treatment, mental health support, medication management, training and consultation for faculty and staff, crisis stabilization, 24/7 support, outreach programming, and groups. Since fall 2023, CAPS has partnered with TimelyCare to offer a free virtual care service for all currently enrolled students to address common concerns that can be safely diagnosed and treated remotely.
