Groups

Students can gain support through a clinical or support group led by CAPS therapists to address a variety of mental health needs.


ADHD Support Group

This group provides students (undergrad, grad, medical) with an opportunity to talk with other students about personal challenges of coping with ADHD. Co-sponsored by CAPS and Student Accessibility Services

Spring 2026 group will meet Fridays, 2-2:50,  from 2/6/26-5/8/26. Group will meet in person in Rhode Island Hall, room 109, except for two group meetings (3/13/26, 4/10/26) when the space is not available and we will need to meet virtually.

Back to Brown for Undergraduate Students

The Back to Brown Group is a support group for all Brown University Students returning to campus following a leave of absence.  Students are encouraged to attend weekly group meetings in order to meet, share experiences, socialize, provide, and receive support from other students and learn about additional resources and communities on campus. 

Spring 2026 group will meet Thursdays, 3:30-4:30pm, starting 1/29/26  at 450 Brook Street (room 197A).

Rivera-Baldwin Support Group

Named after Sylvia Rivera and James Baldwin, two prominent queer and trans activists in the struggle for equal rights and recognition for LGBTQ people of color, the Rivera-Baldwin Support Group meets every week to gather and discuss issues and experiences around gender, sexuality, and race. 

Join us at Stonewall House every Wednesday, 4pm-5pm, starting 1/28/26. All undergraduate, graduate, and medical students are welcome to attend.

Trans and Gender Diverse Support Group

This group is designed to be a safe space to talk, explore, support, challenge, and just be present in your gender identity without having to explain/educate/fear judgment. 

The group starts 1/29/26  and meets every Thursday at 12-1pm.
