Announcements
Dear Brown Students,
As the academic year comes to a close and many students prepare to travel home or spend time outside of the United States, we want to remind you of the mental health and well-being resources available to you over the summer months.
As part of the Brown community, we want to ensure you have access to mental health resources wherever you may be.
With the support of Brown University and UnitedHealthcare Student Resources, international students returning home will have access to BetterHelp, an online mental health platform, through August 14, 2026. BetterHelp provides access to licensed therapists, support groups, and additional mental health resources, allowing you to receive care while living or traveling abroad.
If you are an international student who is returning to Brown in the fall and are remaining in the U.S. over the summer, you can continue to utilize TimelyCare, Brown’s telemental health platform, to support your mental health needs. If you are residing in Rhode Island, you can also access Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) or TimelyCare.
If you have not yet created an account for BetterHelp and would like to do so, you can get started by using the link below:

When you return to the United States for the fall semester, Brown’s on‑campus mental health resources will be available and ready to support you. If you would like assistance coordinating care upon your return, please contact CAPS at 401‑863‑3476.
We encourage you to reach out for support if you need treatment or are experiencing distress. You are not alone, and care remains available to you throughout the summer.
Please take care of yourselves and one another, and we wish you a safe and healthy summer.
Warm regards,
Dr. Bryant Ford, PhD
Director, Brown Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)
