Group Counseling

Students can gain support through a clinical or support group led by CAPS therapists to address a variety of mental health needs.

ADHD Support Group

This group provides students (undergrad, grad, medical) with an opportunity to talk with other students about personal challenges of coping with ADHD.

Co-sponsored by CAPS and SAS; co-led by Erin Lane-Aaronian, Psy.D. (she/her/hers) and Desirae Mix, M.Ed. (she/her/hers). Meets Tuesdays, 3-3:50, starting 2/14/23.

Anxiety Toolbox Workshop

Anxiety Toolbox Workshop is a 3-session workshop on understanding anxiety and ways to manage it. This workshop will focus on how to spot anxiety, increase awareness of patterns that affect anxiety, and develop alternative ways to respond to anxiety. Multiple workshops will take place over the course of the semester.

Back To Brown

Back to Brown is an in-person support group which provides undergraduate students an opportunity to discuss, share, and support each other in shared experiences at Brown following a leave of absence. Students will also have an opportunity to learn healthy options for stress management, self-care, and building social supports. Group meets Mondays from 3pm-4pm at the Health & Wellness Building (450 Brook Street, room 197A) starting 2/6/23.This is an open group, so students may join at any time during the course of the semester.

This is a skills training group with focus on fostering mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Group will start on 2/9/23, and will meet on Thursdays for 9 weeks from 2:30-4:00 pm at the Health & Wellness Building (450 Brook Street, room 197B).

Trans and Gender Diverse Support Group

This group is designed to be a safe and confidential space to talk, explore, support, challenge and just be present in your gender identity without having to explain/educate/fear judgment.

Group is led by Jayden Thai, Ph.D. (he/him/his; CAPS) and Caitlin O’Neill (they/she; LGBTQ Center).
